How Daniel lived
Daniel, son of Shelley and Rabbi Doron, brother to Yonatan, Adina, and Shira, was born in South Africa and made Aliya at 13. Exceptionally social, he quickly integrated into Israeli society and loved spending time with friends. He was known for his boundless energy, willpower, and determination. Drafted to the Armored Corps, he became an outstanding commander. On October 7th, he commanded a tank near Nahal Oz, bravely fighting for 2 hours against hundreds of Nukhba terrorists to stop the invasion. His body was held captive in Gaza and for 163 days his fate was not known. His body was returned to Israel on Simchat Torah - exactly 2 years after his heroic battle. He was 22 years old when he fell.
