How Gal lived

Gal, son of Ilana and Shuki, brother to Coral and Liam, was engaged to Roni. He grew up in Katzir and served as commander of the Chetz Company, 202nd Battalion, Paratroopers Brigade. He loved the sea, kite surfing, and free diving. His soldiers, most of them lone soldiers and Haredim, affectionately called him “Shabbat Dad” – Gal cared for all their needs while training them to be excellent fighters. His heart was like the great sea – broad and endlessly kind. He died of wounds after being critically injured in battles at the Jabalia refugee camp while shielding his soldiers. He was 24 years old when he fell.
